School Summary
Belvedere Elementary School is located near the center of Fairfax County and encompasses portions of Falls Church, Annandale, and Alexandria. Its boundaries support a diverse population representing 29 countries of origin and speaking 31 different languages in the home. These students are enrolled in general, gifted, special education, and English for speakers of other languages programs.

A CORE committee is involved in collaborative decision making and in guiding the school planning process. Instructionally, the staff focuses on programs to address the school's changing demographics and incorporates current research into everyday instructional practices. Inclusion models are implemented throughout the school, as appropriate, to meet the individualized needs of students. We are a Title I school that provides additional instructional resources.

In addition, the school serves students from neighboring schools who have been found eligible for the center-based gifted and talented program.

Belvedere Elementary School’s primary mission is to provide a positive, safe, collaborative and inclusive learning environment in which every child has the opportunity and is inspired to reach his or her full potential through developmentally appropriate experiences and best practices.

Usingthe FCPS Program of Studies (POS) and the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL), we will set high expectations, challenge all students to achieve or exceed grade-level benchmarks, and provide remedial interventions when necessary. We will further enhance our students’ success through the collaborative efforts of the staff and the parent-school community.
