School Summary
Sangster celebrates children both as individuals and as a group. Students come to school every day with an excitement and a joy about learning. The world of an elementary school is filled with discovery, exploration, excitement and enthusiastic hands-on learning. A dedicated faculty plans and delivers lessons that reflect the use of best practices in education. Parents support the school at home through monitoring of homework and providing enriching activities. Students come to school ready, willing and eager to learn.

The foundation of Sangster Elementary is a strong instructional program that emphasizes that every child can learn to read, write, think, master computation and problem-solving skills, and appreciate diversity of cultures. The delivery of instruction is based on research and the belief that children learn from being immersed in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Programs are developed based on the philosophy that all children can learn and have an intrinsic willingness to please. Each child is valued and accepted by a staff that provides learning experiences, which develop, enrich, and extend the curriculum so that the instructional needs of each child can be met. Opportunities for students to develop ownership and pride in their school environment are provided so students have experiences that will prepare them to contribute to a democratic society.
