School Summary
Since its opening in 1979, Fox Mill Elementary School has maintained a reputation for fostering academic excellence in a nurturing environment with strong community involvement.
The mission and goals for Fox Mill Elementary are developed through collaboration among teachers, parents, and administrators. School wide priorities emphasize student achievement and help guide students in their development as creative learners, effective decision makers, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens. Student technology skills are mastered by an integrated approach throughout the curriculum.
Fox Mill’s talented staff is committed to delivering an instructional program that launches children on their journey as lifelong learners. This is achieved by establishing high expectations and developing and implementing innovative programs. One of these is a Japanese language partial-immersion program in grades 1 through 6, which also draws students from outside the school boundaries. This optional program gives students the opportunity to gain a command of the Japanese language while being taught math, science, and health during the school day. Social studies, language arts, music, and physical education are taught in English.
An active PTA enhances the instructional program by offering cultural arts experiences, field trips, GRACE Art, Mad Science, foreign language experience (FLEX) program, chess club, Odyssey of the Mind, Reflections, and countless hours of volunteer support.
Fox Mill Elementary is proud of its academic success, parental support, and programs that enrich the lives of all students.
