School Summary

Herndon High School is an inclusive high school serving students from Herndon, Reston, and Great Falls, located near Dulles Airport and numerous technology centers.

Herndon High offers a full range of advanced placement courses. Honors courses in grades nine through twelve help prepare students for upper-level and advanced placement courses. A comprehensive foreign language program includes Spanish, French, German, and Latin. A multi faceted fine arts department offers students a range of visual arts, music, and drama.

Herndon High School athletic teams participate in the highly competitive Concorde District and Northern Region. Athletics allow students to develop their competitive spirits. Student athletes are honored at the conclusion of each season with an awards banquet held at the high school. The annual senior awards night is a highlight of the school year and through school-community partnership Herndon students receive just over $2.5 million dollars yearly in scholarship opportunities. The mission of Herndon High School is to fulfill the individual needs of our diverse student body, maintain high expectations and accountability, provide quality instruction, promote ethical values, and prepare students for the challenges of good citizenship and leadership. Staff members of Herndon High are dedicated to challenging and preparing our students for lives of fulfillment.
