School Summary
Groveton Elementary School serves the instructional needs of a community composed of nine neighborhoods, representing 34 nations, over 24 languages, and a variety of cultures from throughout the United States and the world. It enjoys a rich history in which teachers and support staff members are dedicated to assuring each student a challenging learning environment that promotes high academic expectations.
Teachers place priority on diagnosing student needs, assessing the strongest course of instructional action, and developing a working partnership with each child’s parents or guardians. Groveton students receive Title I assistance and special needs staffing. Instructional staff members benefit from ongoing training and instructional support.
The Parent-Teacher Association, composed of parents, community members, and teachers, works cooperatively toward the common goal of meeting each child’s academic needs by encouraging strong literacy skills. A growing active parent volunteer program provides daily enrichment to add to teachers’ endeavors. Mentors and volunteers from our business partners make a positive difference in the lives of many students. Groveton Elementary School is truly a community school.
