School Summary
Bush Hill opened in 1954 as a small elementary school and has maintained its small size over the years. The Bush Hill Learning Community shares a responsibility to provide an inviting and safe environment and to set high standards. This will promote growth in intellect and character throughout our diverse student body. Bush Hill is based on a collaborative model where the diverse needs of all our students are met in an inclusive environment.

Students work together cooperatively, exploring the realms of education. Parent volunteers are active in every phase of Bush Hill school life. The library has many of the conveniences of larger schools, such as computerized cataloging, DC-ROM with current encyclopedia information, and an ample book collection that has been bolstered by the school’s PTA. Technology is a focus. Two modern computer labs complement computers and AlphaSmarts in all classrooms. Emphasis is placed on increasing concept understanding, the problem-solving ability of students, and on the total language arts program. We have an active fine arts program with weekly art classes and the vast majority of our students in grades 4-6 participating in our choral, band, and strings programs.
