School Summary
Bren Mar Park is home to students speaking 31 different languages and includes services in programs such as English as a second language (ESOL), special services for students with moderate and severe disabilities (FLEX), and school-based gifted and talented. Focus is placed on helping all students realize their special talents and interests with the goal of providing stimulating learning experiences within a secure and caring environment. Staff members participate in on-going professional development and employs the latest educational research and learning theories in the classrooms.
Bren Mar Park’s staff members and families are committed to developing the total child. High expectations for academic achievement support a learning environment that meets the needs of each child with a strong emphasis on reading, writing, and mathematics programs. After-school tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs extend learning opportunities for students. Student leadership experiences are provided through student council, safety patrols and our student produced daily news program.
A strong Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides new and exciting experiences for our students through field trips, assemblies, volunteerism, and after-school programs. A parent liaison works to encourage parent involvement and provides support to our community. Parent education workshops and English classes are popular events; as well as PTA sponsored bingo nights and sock hops.
Bren Mar Park Elementary enjoys a long and cherished tradition of community involvement and parent support. The school continues to be an anchor for the Bren Mar Park Community.
