School Summary
Timber Lane Elementary School was built in 1955. Timber Lane has grown into a richly diverse community, with a student body that represents a population from over 60 countries. Timber Lane celebrates and embraces its diversity every day.

Timber Lane is the county's first school with a modified school calendar. This gives Timber Lane students the option of attending up to 29 more days of school. During those 29 extra days of school, called intersessions, students are offered a variety of courses which include remediation and enrichment classes. All the classes are project bases with lots of hands on experiences. Timber Lane students begin school in August so that less academic regression occurs and more retention of information is experienced.

Timber Lane students enjoy the benefits of a renovated building, which includes a new modern library, a computer lab, wireless internet connection, a 16 cart mobile lab, and a stage for performances and assemblies.

The Timber Lane community believes in creating a safe environment that fosters respect and responsibility where:

  • All children can and will learn
  • The students’ background does not affect their ability to learn
  • Parents want the best education for their children and they deserve our full support in co-educating their children
  • Education of the whole child
  • Students learn in a variety of ways
  • Teacher, student, and parents learn from and with each other. Staff members are committed to building a learning environment where all students succeed
  • Together staff, students, and parents will foster open, honest communication, respect for diversity, and high expectations for achievement

The nurturance and love given by every member of the Timber Lane community is what makes Timber Lane a very special place. As a result, students excel in their achievements.
