School Summary
Marshall Road Elementary maintains a small-town atmosphere as it capitalizes on the major cosmopolitan area surrounding it. Marshall Road opened its doors in 1961, and the building was completely renovated in 2000.
Marshall Road Elementary School is a professional learning community that creates an environment of learners in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. With a focus on goal setting, all students and faculty strive to develop a strong mind, body and character. Utilizing a positive behavioral approach, we foster and respect individual strengths and differences. Our school promotes environmental and community stewardship for all. We honor diversity by providing a continuum of services for all students, including a wide variety of special education, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Advanced Academics for all students who qualify. George Washington University and Marshall Road Elementary continue to partner as a professional development school, training special education teachers to be skilled professionals in the field. Students, parents, and faculty promote learning and have high standards for success. Our mission is to work collaboratively with our community to provide all students with an environment where they can develop and grow into dynamic and self-motivated citizens.
