TJHSST Student Named Siemens National Winner; Lake Braddock Secondary Recognized for AP Performance

Tianhui Cai, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), has been named one of two national winners in the 2007-08 Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement, and Lake Braddock Secondary School has been recognized as the Virginia school winner for its commitment to students and leadership in Advanced Placement (AP) participation and performance. TJHSST and Lake Braddock Secondary are Fairfax County public schools.

Cai was recognized for being one of the top-performing American high school students in AP science and math courses and will receive a $5,000 scholarship from Siemens.

Lake Braddock is the Virginia state winner of the 2007-08 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement. As one of 50 high schools nationally to win the award, Lake Braddock will receive a $1,000 grant to support science and math education. Representatives from Siemens will present the award to school officials on Monday, March 24.

Cassandra Xia and Jack Wang, both students at TJHSST, were named state winners in the Siemens competition. They will each receive a $2,000 scholarship from Siemens.
