FCPS to Hold Community Meeting to Name New Elementary School

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) will hold a community meeting to name the new elementary school currently under construction in west Fairfax at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Liberty Middle School. Boundaries for the new school were determined at the February 23 Fairfax County School Board meeting and can be viewed online at .

The meeting is open to the general public, and all individuals attending the meeting will be able to suggest names for the new school. However, only property owners who reside within the boundary area will be able to vote. Proof of residency is required for those who will be voting. The top three recommendations from this meeting will be forwarded to FCPS Superintendent Jack D. Dale, who will submit his recommendation to the School Board. The School Board is scheduled to vote on the name for the new school later this spring.

The new elementary school at the west Fairfax site is located at 4500 Dixie Hill Road and is scheduled to open in September 2006.
