FCPS Schools, Teachers Awarded Apple IMPACT Grants

Six Fairfax County public schools and 13 teachers and teams of teachers have been awarded Apple IMPACT Grants for Schools and Teachers by Apple Federal Credit Union (AFCU).  School level grants provide $5,000 to each winning school, and teacher level grants provide up to $2,000 to winning teachers and teams of teachers.

Recognizing the challenges schools face in achieving their primary mission of student achievement, the Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation introduced the Apple IMPACT Grants for Schools and for Teachers, awarded to schools that develop innovative activities and programming that support the Virginia Standards of Learning and the FCPS Portrait of a Graduate.

Apple FCU has served teachers since 1956 and broadened its field of membership to include educators, students, and their families throughout Northern Virginia.  The Apple FCU Education Foundation supports school efforts to impact student learning and build encouraging and productive relationships between staff members and students that could be replicated in other schools.
