FCPS Career and Transition Services Plans Open House January 17

An open house designed to help students receiving special education services prepare for high school and beyond will be presented by Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Career and Transition Services (CTS) on Thursday, January 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dunn Loring Center for Parent Services. 

This event is for middle- and high school-aged students and their parents and will provide information and resources about what to do now to prepare for the high school years and life after high school. FCPS staff members who want to learn more about CTS are also welcome to attend. 

Representatives from CTS will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. An overview of CTS services will be provided at 7 p.m. Information will be provided on:

       ·         Academy support.
·         Career assessment.
·         Employment and transition.
·         Job coach services.
·         Office technology and procedures.
·         Secondary Transition to Employment Program (STEP).
·         Technology support.
·         The Parent Resource Center.
·         The Pulley and Davis Career Centers.
·         Work awareness and transition.
