Madison High School Student Athletes Plan Vienna Spruce Up Day

Student athletes from Madison High School, along with their families, will participate in a community service day on Saturday, September 22, to spruce up six different sites in the town of Vienna. Approximately 300 people are expected to participate in this day of service. Madison High School is a Fairfax County public school.

This is the first time student athletes in a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) high school have joined together to participate in a day of service projects. The students will be weeding and raking, mulching trails, doing landscaping, and cleaning up trash and debris at the following sites:
·         Madison High School
·         Vienna Town Green
·         Vienna Dog Park
·         Southside Park
·         Wildwood Park
·         Waters Field and Caffi Field

Students and their family members will meet at the Madison High School football stadium at 9:30 a.m., then split up to work on the different sites. They will meet back at the school at noon for a cookout.

The community service day is designed to help students meet the Fairfax County School Board student achievement goal of demonstrating responsibility to the community.
