West Potomac Academy Students Donate Music Compilation CDs to Capital Caring
Students in Music and Computer Technology at West Potomac Academy have provided 50 copies of a holiday compilation CD to hospice patients, community physicians, and nursing staff members at Capital Caring of Alexandria for the second year in a row. West Potomac Academy is one of six high school academies in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).
This service learning project gave the gift of music to hospice patients in their homes and in long term care facilities.
The compilation CD consists of original and remixed musical compositions of a variety of music genres of easy listening and holiday favorites. In the Music and Computer Technology course, students learn the business of music production and compose music and market their work.
West Potomac Academy and Capital Caring have an active business partnership.
