Binggeli to Leave Fairfax County Public Schools
Brian Binggeli, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Cluster IV assistant superintendent, has announced that he will accept the position of superintendent of Brevard (Florida) Public Schools.
“Brian has worked to improve student achievement not only in his cluster but throughout FCPS,” said Superintendent Jack D. Dale. “We wish him the best in his new role as superintendent.”
Binggeli has served as Cluster IV assistant superintendent since 2006, where he was responsible for leading a project team that revised the division school improvement plan process to provide schools with a more focused and strategic planning model. Cluster IV student performance on the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests increased in reading, math, and science from 2006 to 2008 along with an increase in the number of students from diverse backgrounds and those eligible for free and reduced-price meals.
Prior to joining FCPS, Binggeli worked as an administrator in Spotsylvania County Schools and as a principal and assistant principal in Henrico County and Goochland County Public Schools. He began his career as a social studies teacher in Elyria (Ohio) City Schools.
