FCPS Honored for Commitment to Music Education

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is one of 124 school districts nationwide to be cited for its commitment to and support of music education in the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation’s tenth annual Best Communities for Music Education survey.

FCPS is one of seven school divisions in Virginia to be honored by NAMM. All U.S. school districts were eligible to complete the web-based survey that measured curricular and programmatic criteria as well as public support of music programs. Survey participants answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music program.

Additional information about the NAMM Foundation survey can be found at http://www.namm.org/news/press-releases/nationwide-survey-finds-best-communities-music-edu.
